| PUCO Accepts Results of January 2012 FEOU CBP Auction - Thursday, January 26, 2012The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) today accepted the results of the fourth of six wholesale auctions that will determine FirstEnergy Ohio Utilities' retail generation service rates from June 1, 2011 through May 31, 2014. | Announcement Regarding Tranche Size for January 2012 CBP Auction - Wednesday, January 04, 2012 Pursuant to the Bidding Rules, no later than four (4) days prior to the Part 2 Application Due Date, the CBP Manager announces any update to the MW-measure of the tranches in the auction. There is no change in the MW-measure of the tranches in the auction scheduled for January 2012 from the announcement made on November 17, 2011. Thus, based on historical data, the energy obligation is approximately 115 MW per tranche, and the capacity obligation is approximately 130 MW per tranche. These values are provided for reference purposes only. The FirstEnergy Ohio Utilities do not represent that each tranche will have the loads shown above or any particular MW value - the actual SSO Load during the Delivery Period will depend upon many factors. |
| Minimum and Maximum Starting Prices for January 2012 CBP Auction - Monday, December 19, 2011 The minimum and maximum starting prices for the product in the CBP auction scheduled for January 24, 2012 are $65.00/MWh and $85.00/MWh, respectively. Prior to the auction, the actual starting price for the product will be disclosed to bidders. This starting price is expected to fall within the range of $65.00/MWh and $85.00/MWh. |

- Delivery period June 2012 through May 2014 (24 months): 17 tranches
Each tranche is one percent (1%) of the energy obligation and capacity obligation to serve SSO Load. Based on historical data, the energy obligation is approximately 115 MW per tranche, and the capacity obligation is approximately 130 MW per tranche. These values are provided for reference purposes only and may be updated prior to the auction as explained in the Bidding Rules. | Announcement of Auction Format Change - Tuesday, September 27, 2011Pursuant to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio’s September 7, 2011 Entry for Case No. 10-1284, the four remaining auctions under the ESP scheduled for October 2011, January 2012, October 2012, and January 2013 will use a two-phase auction format. The auction format will include a multi-round descending-price clock format (phase one) possibly followed by a sealed-bid round (phase two). Bidders that bid at least one tranche in the penultimate round of the clock phase and then decreased their bid quantity in the final round of the clock phase will submit a bid in the sealed-bid round. The Bidding Rules document has been updated accordingly and can be found here. |

| Revised CBP Schedule - Monday, May 24, 2010In response to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio’s May 13 Entry on Rehearing in the Electric Security Plan (ESP), which calls for an evidentiary hearing on June 17, 2010, FirstEnergy Corp.’s Ohio utility companies need to modify the previously announced competitive bidding process (CBP) schedule. As a result, Part 2 Applications will be postponed from the current deadline of June 15, 2010, and the auction will be rescheduled from its current date of July 13, 2010. Additional information, including a revised schedule, will be posted on the auction Information Website and distributed via email as soon as it becomes available.
